A man has been arrested for shooting a Hendry County (FL) Sheriff’s Deputy.
Deputy Jayson Moorehead, age 42, was rushed to a trauma center, where he was listed in stable condition just after midnight. Deputy Moorehead just graduated from the police academy and has only been with the sheriff’s office for six months.
A “person of interest” was being questioned.
According to investigators, Deputy Moorehead responded to the M&M Store at 944 Kentucky Avenue and while speaking to a man, he suddenly prioduced a gun and fired four times, striking the deputy in the upper left arm.
