Charges against eighteen-year-old Dylan Broughman have been increased to murder—for allegedly killing his grandmother on Oct. 10 after she took his beer away from him.
Broughman was in the shower while his grandmother, 69-year-old Joyce Courson, took his beer and hid it from him. Broughman began arguing with his grandmother—and then became violent.

Courson was taken to the hospital and told police that her grandson punched her in the face, while he held her down and kicked her.
Broughman was arrested and initially charged with aggravated battery. However, the charges against Broughman have been increased to murder as Courson died from her injuries and a ruling from the Medical Examiner that her death was a homicide.
