Car manufacturer Dodge faced backlash Sunday and Monday for a Twitter banner that social justice advocates attempted to link to the Charlottesville riot.
Dodge’s wallpaper read “Roadkill Nights powered by Dodge,” “drag racing, thrill rides, muscle cars & more,” displaying the date Saturday, August 12 for the auto event — the same date as a Dodge driver killed a woman in Charlottesville, Va.
“Uh, @dodge? Not your fault that one of your cars plowed into a bunch of pedestrians today, but you still might wanna change this,” said public speaker Shauna Wright.
Dodge replaced the wallpaper in question by Monday morning and they have not responded to the incident.
