A couple is in custody Saturday morning after police said the man shoved an off-duty Cleveland police officer working security through a window at a popular downtown bar.
Both the officer and the man broke through a window at Panini’s at East 9th Street and Prospect Avenue, and police arrested him as he tried to run away, police said.

The man, 23, and his 20-year-old girlfriend each face felonious assault and vandalism charges, according to police records. The officer, who received stitches on his arms and hands, is expected to recover.
