HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (Houston Chronicle) – One person was fatally stabbed and two others were injured Wednesday morning at Spring High School.
The stabbing happened about 7 a.m. on the campus at 19428 North Freeway, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said one person died at the scene and two others were flown by Life Flight medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center. KHOU reported a 16-year-old male was one of the two people flown to the hospital.
No information was available about the injured people's conditions.
Officials said all the victims are students. According to multiple media reports, two people have been detained by authorities.
Spring Independent School District officials said they so far cannot confirm any information about the incident.
Deputies said no other details were immediately available about the incident.
The freeway is blocked at Cypresswood and I-45 with exit ramps shut down and the freeway is at a near standstill.Management at a nearby Conn's have learned that Spring High School students were to be released after 10 a.m. to the parking lot in front of their location via school buses.
Shortly after 10 a.m. parents of Spring High School students were notified from a phone recording that a stabbing had occurred, the first such missive from the school district.
