In light of the recent line of duty deaths in Dallas, Texas, one Oklahoma company reached out to Dallas Police officers to offer free gear.
Tulster, a Tulsa based company, launched in December, 2012 and specializes in quality, affordable Kydex holsters for concealment wear. Owners Justin Courtney and Richard Hobbs have a staff of approximately six people who make each inside-the-waist-band (AIWB) holster by hand. As demand of the product increases, Tulster plans on introducing customized machinery to increase efficiency in their production. Each holster however will still be finished individually and by hand.
After the attack on Dallas Police officers, Courtney and Hobbs wanted to give back to law enforcement and their families. Soon after a quick brainstorming session, both decided to give their product away for free to DPD officers. “What a better way to boost morale and officer safety then to give away free gear?,” said Courtney. “We just wanted us (Tulster) to be able to help the officers in any way we could and giving away our product felt like the right thing to do.”
Hobbs reported that DPD officers used the “free code” posted on the Tulster Facebook Page, https://www.facebook.com/TulsterHolsters/, nearly 200 times after Tulster posted about their giveaway. To date, Tulster was able to give away near $13,000 in free holsters.
Tulster posted on July 11, 2016:
“Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with the officers and families of the Dallas Police Department! For a limited time only (ends 7/16/16), Tulster is offering FREE
Profile holsters for officers of the Dallas Police Department. Please email us directly ( [email protected] ) from your “Dallas City Email Address” for order instructions and discount code. Please tag or mention any Dallas Police Officers you may know. Thank you for your service to Dallas, Texas and the USA. Stay safe…”
Courtney and Hobbs stated the free code has expired but still encourage law officers, friends, and family to try their AIWB holsters at a discount. Law Officer readers can use the discount code “lawofficer” at checkout to receive 15% off the total checkout price on Tulster brand products. Tulster also carries a wide array of performance wear, Streamlight products, Key Bars, Neo mags, Klarus flashlights, and other gun accessories.
