The Crewe (VA) Police Department had a little fun this week in regards to the new ‘Pokemon Go’ game that encoirages players to find characters within communities. They posted the following on their Facebook Page:
**Suspicious Activity**
Police have noticed a large amount of foot traffic in the town.
Individuals appear to be walking aimlessly in circles while staring at their phones.
Police have stopped and talked to these individuals and discovered that they are hunting down, capturing and training virtual Pokemon.
We like to know who is in our community, so this morning we set out to hunt down these alleged Pokemon creatures taking over our town. As always, we captured the wanted and found out that they’re pretty police friendly 🙂
On a serious note Pokemon Go playing friends, remember to be safe. Crossing streets with your eyes focused on your phone screen is dangerous. We understand that it’s hard work saving the virtual world, but we’d prefer you not walk out into oncoming traffic. If you become road kill who will train the Pokemon? Think about it…
Since launching last Wednesday, the game has taken the world by storm including some countries having to shut it down for crashed servers.
Last week, a woman found a dead body when she attempted to find a character in open water.
