Bill Belichick has always been a proud supporter of men and women in the military.
On Friday, he expanded that reach to the men and women in blue, particularly the Boston Police Department, after a shooting Wednesday night that left two police officers fighting for their lives in critical condition.

“Before we get into Cincinnati, on behalf of the team, just want to express our appreciation and support for the Boston Police Department, what they’ve been going through the last couple of days, the injured officers, their families,” Belichick said in opening his Friday press conference. “I can’t imagine but I can imagine the amount of stress that that department has to deal with and their challenges every day and the difficulty of the situation that they’ve been put in.
“I just want to let them know we’re behind them, we appreciate them, we appreciate what they do for us and how they protect us. We’re there for them.”
