The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has released the names of the victims of a weekend shooting rampage in Bogue Chitto and Brookhaven that left eight dead, including a Lincoln County deputy, two boys, his mother-in-law and other family members.
The Clarion Ledger details a news release, the preliminary investigation indicates the suspect in custody, Willie Corey Godbolt, was either related to or an acquaintance of each victim.
Godbolt, 35, remains in the hospital and is being treated for a gunshot wound.
Those killed at 2871 Lee Road, Bogue Chitto:
Barbara Mitchell, age 55
Brenda May, age 53
Tocarra May, age 35
Those killed at 1658 Coopertown Road, Brookhaven:
Juvenile, age unknown
17-year-old male
Those killed at East Lincoln Road, Brookhaven:
Ferral Burage, age 45
Shelia Burage, age 46
