Tate Garcia hopped up on the side of the SWAT vehicle and started scrubbing.
Dwarfed by a vehicle that was twice his height, Garcia, 8, held onto the Fullerton police vehicle and began washing, pausing only once to turn and smile at his family, who were taking photos of him.
“I like cleaning the windows and the license plates,” said Garcia, whose feet were drenched from the soapy water.
Garcia and his father, Nick Garcia, joined than 60 volunteers who flocked to the Fullerton (CA) Police Department on Saturday, April 29, for “Love Fullerton” day.
The one-day event brought together hundreds of volunteers to do more than 60 community service projects in the city, including painting a local Boys and Girls Club, making blankets for foster children and washing more than a dozen police vehicles.
