Phoenix Officer Hurt, Suspect Down In Officer Involved Shooting

Phoenix police say a suspect is down and an officer was hurt in a shooting involving law enforcement Saturday.

Phoenix police said the scene around 37th Avenue and McDowell was very active as of 2 p.m.

The officer suffered an apparent non-life threatening injury, according to authorities.

Phoenix firefighters said the scene was not secure and asked people to keep their distance.

Witnesses said they heard “quite a few shots” coming from an apartment complex in the 3700 block of West McDowell Road.

No other information was immediately available. ABC15 is live on the scene and is reporting on the story.
