New Orleans Police Officer Dies While Working Bourbon Street

A New Orleans Police officer died while working overnight on Bourbon Street, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Officer Bryan Bordes, 43, was working on Bourbon Street when he became ill, police said. Bordes collapsed and died on his way to get treatment.

Bordes joined the NOPD in August of 1997 and had worked in the 8th District since February 2006.

The exact cause of death is unknown, and the Orleans Parish coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine final cause.
