An off-duty Port Huron (MI) Police lieutenant was shot and killed early Friday morning in Clyde Township.
Two other people also were shot.
A male suspect was arrested at a gas station in Southfield.
The Times Herald reports that the shootings happened about 12:52 a.m. Friday, according to police, at an apartment building in the 4700 block of Atkins Road.
According to police, two of the victims were shot inside an apartment. A neighbor who tried to help also was shot.
St. Clair County Undersheriff Tom Buckley said the police lieutenant was visiting the woman who lived in the apartment when the woman’s estranged husband broke in and attacked them. The woman, 29 years old, was shot multiple times but managed to escape the apartment.
The off-duty police officer has has not yet been identified.
