An ATV rider bit a police officer’s arm after the cop tried to stop him from driving on the sidewalk, the NYPD said.
The 28-year-old officer was walking in front of 449 W. 206th St. at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday, when he approached the suspect to question him about riding his yellow ATV on the sidewalk.
The driver then bit the officer on the right forearm before fleeing south on 10th Avenue, the NYPD said.
The suspect’s bite broke the officer’s skin, forcing him to undergo HIV-preventative shots, a law enforcement source said.
The suspect was described as a man in his 20s, standing about 5-foot-11 and weighing 260 pounds, police said.
