Cincinnati police officers and their families are calling for Motorola to fix its emergency radios.
Officials said it’s been an ongoing issue all over the country with radios failing when officers and firefighters need them the most.
Now, families have started a new campaign to get Motorola’s attention.
WLWT report that the wives and children of police officers all over Ohio have posted photos demanding Motorola fix problems with the new digital radios used by police and firefighters.
Officers and firefighters said the radios are putting their lives in more danger.
The pictures say, “Hey Motorola! Fix your radios, our daddy’s life depends on it.”
Cincinnati Police Fraternal Order of Police president Sgt. Dan Hils said the radios work the worst when officers are in stressful situations, like in the riverfront shooting in September, when officers could barely communicate.
“This time I’m very, very frustrated,” Hils said. “I want the other officers and their families to join in and say, ‘That’s enough.’ Motorola, you either have to come here, you either have to find what’s wrong with this thing, or you have to replace it.”
Hils said Motorola tried to fix the digital radios after officers complained, but problems still persist.
