LAPD Deputy Chief Set To Become San Francisco Police Chief

Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief William Scott has been named the new San Francisco police chief.

Scott is a 25-year veteran of the LAPD.

Former Chief Greg Suhr stepped down in May after mounting pressure.

Suhr resigned after transcripts surfaced showing officers using racial slurs in text messages and police involved shootings that were deemed controversial.
