A police officer who ticketed his own mayor has now been fired.
Highland Falls (NY) Officer Hal DesJardines ticketed Mayor Patrick Flynn back in February for allegedly driving an ambulance without a license.
The charges were dropped because it couldn’t be proved that Flynn was behind the wheel.
Flynn says the decision to let DesJardines go had nothing to do with the incident, but rather multiple complaints made against the officer.
The union claims the total opposite and say DesJardines was fired for “no reason.”
DesJardines would not comment on the controversy other than to say he is upset by the move.
