WFTV reports that an Ocoee (FL) police officer has been indicted by a grand jury for shooting into an occupied dwelling, the State Attorney’s Office confirmed.
Officers Carlos Anglero and Stephanie Roberts went to a home on Belhaven Falls in Ocoee last February.

Dispatchers reportedly sent the officers to the wrong house. Dispatchers used cell towers to pinpoint the caller’s location, investigators said. Winter Garden police said one of the dispatchers was given a written letter of counseling for errors that were made during the call.
The homeowner told Eyewitness News in February that they never identified themselves as officers. The homeowner said he heard a knock at the door at 1:30 a.m. and he asked four times who was at the door. The homeowner said no one identified themselves as officers so he got his gun. The officers saw the gun and began shooting, the homeowner said. The officers fired nine shots into the home, no one was injured, investigators said.
“To hear that the grand jury indicted at least one of those officers is good news to them. They (homeowner’s family) have clearly been suffering emotionally,” said family attorney Todd Miner.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been working the case and Anglero turned himself in to authorities Thursday night after the grand jury indictment.
Anglero, 34, is on administrative leave without pay, and Roberts has been fired, the Ocoee Police Department said.
