Despite a recent march in Minnesota where the Black Lives Matter Movement was chanting “pigs in a blanket….fry like bacon” and the recent flag burning outside a Minneapolis Police Precinct, Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith proclaimed Monday, May 23, 2016, to be “Beyoncé Day” in Minnesota.
“Beyoncé has influenced many Minnesota girls and women with the powerful, positive messages in her music, and her impact and success have been widely-recognized,” a press release from Gov. Dayton’s office stated Monday.
Beyonce angered many officers with her new song “Formation” in which the video depicts a line of cops and a black child with their hands up along with a wall with graffiti sprayed on it saying “stop shooting us.”
