Some Colorado Springs police officers could be in danger at their own homes. The department confirms a list containing the names and addresses of local cops fell into the hands of criminals.
The Colorado Springs Independent broke the story, saying investigators found the list on a drug dealer’s phone.
Right now, investigators are working to find out how the list was compromised.
More than 100 officers are on that list, but at this time, it’s unclear if the entire list got out — or just a section. It’s also unclear just how many criminals have seen it.
The list was of officers’ names and home addresses who take home police vehicles. It was discovered in March that the list from 2014 got into the hands of criminals.
