Thirty-two people have been shot across the city of Chicago over the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend, leaving eight dead, according to Chicago police.
The violence comes just one week after the Department of Justice alleged that the department had a “pattern and practice” of Civil Rights Abuses and a separate report from the Chicago Police Department showed a dramatic increase in the violence towards Chicago Police Officers.
Nine people were shot in Chicago last weekend.
