Four men, including a Sugar Land police officer, were arrested this week near Houston in connection with a cattle rustling operation in which almost $150,000 in property was stolen.
William Allen, 37, has been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, according to Houston’s KTRK (ABC 13).
His three accomplices, also charged with organized crime, were identified as Leon Washington, Justin Sessums and Myles Wallace.
The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crime, along with some local police departments.
Aside from the cattle, the men stole construction equipment, cattle trailers and pickup trucks, according to Channel 13.
The Sugar Land Police Department released a statement Wednesday saying that Allen had been placed on leave after his arrest.
