Cops in Los Angeles fatally shot an 18-year-old man who ditched a stolen vehicle following a car chase Saturday afternoon, police said.
The deadly end to the police pursuit came just before 1 p.m. near the corner of 107th St. and Western Ave. in the Westmont neighborhood, sparking another round of heated protests.

Monique Morgan identified her teen son, Carnell Snell, as the suspect slain in Saturday’s shooting.
Cops attempted to pull over the suspected stolen car with paper plates, but it tore off. As the officers were tailing it, the driver jumped out of the vehicle and took off running, police said.
Officers followed him to a backyard, where the fatal confrontation took place.
A gun was recovered at the scene, cops said.
An angry crowd had gathered at the site — a block of tidy ranch homes with well-manicured front lawns — and shouted at cops wearing riot helmets for several hours Saturday.
