A spokesperson with CCSO says the injured deputy — who was doing contract police work for Happy Valley at the time of the shooting — was transported to the hospital. He was described as alert and talking to emergency responders and is expected to recover. The deputy is also on administrative leave during the investigation, standard procedure in these instances.
The suspect, 40-year-old Steven W. Wilson, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries, but officials did not release his condition nor did they say how he was injured.
