A man who claimed to be a vampire is facing several charges after police said he attacked a woman early Tuesday morning outside the Concord (NH) Food Co-Op on Main Street.
Police said an employee at the store was taking boxes out to a dumpster around 1:40 a.m. when a man, later identified as 21-year-old Jacob May, approached her and offered help. Police said May then began moving closer to the worker, claiming he was vampire and that he could help her.

The worker ran for the building’s receiving door while May pursued her, police said. The worker told police that May was yelling, “Just touch me, I can save you.” Police said the worker fell to the ground before getting help and that May then wrapped his arms around her.
A male co-worker attempted to intervene, when police said May thew a punch at him, initiating a fight. Police said the man pulled out a box cutter in an attempt to intimidate May. May then reportedly took off running and ended up inside a walk-in freezer.
Police said May told an arresting officer that he was a “vampire, a ghost rider, Jack Sparrow from ’Pirates of the Caribbean,’ Mr. Miyagi from ’The Karate Kid’ and a leader of a band.”
Police said it was apparent that May was “under the influence of some alcohol or drugs or combination thereof.”
May was charged with burglary and simple assault. He is due in court Tuesday.
