Trump protesters turned violent when they threw rocks and bottles at the police and police horses at a Trump protest in Albuquerque (NM) on May 26th.
Police have been searching through video and photos to find those responsible, and have identified 30, including 14-year-old Marcus Griego. A police commander witnessed Griego throw a grapefruit sized rock at the officers and horses, and strike an officer with the rock.
When officers confronted Griego about throwing the rock, he laughed at them.
Griego was arrested and charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery on a peace officer. The District Attorney’s Office intends to prosecute him as an adult. Griego’s attorney says the charges are excessive given that Griego is only 14 and has no previous criminal history. His bond is set at $10,000 and he is currently in juvenile detention.
