With over 50 years of combined experience with their seminars taught in over 40 states including Canada and the Philippines, this seminar is a must attend for any instructor or police officer serious about officer safety.
“Beyond the Cones” is a Training Program addressing officer safety relating to vehicle operation. This course is designed to radically change the police driving culture. LOD’s from vehicle related incidents have claimed more than 1200 lives in the past 20 years. This seminar will address:
– Line of duty deaths related to vehicle crashes;
– Duty related crashes injuring/killing civilians;
– Training “response” drivers to protect the driver and their organization’s liability.

As an instructor, Keith was instrumental in developing new and innovative training for the Dallas Police Department (3500 member agency) in areas of vehicle operations, use of force, leadership, reality based training and officer safety.
Keith is a sought-after international speaker and is considered a subject matter expert in police driving, officer safety and risk management. He was a lead trainer for Lifeline Training and Calibre Press.
Keith has presented for the California POST, Arizona POST, FLETC, and various agencies, organizations, and business groups. As a result of presenting at the FLETC Distracted Driving Symposium in 2012, he was made an Honorary FLETC Instructor.
Major Travis Yates began his career in 1993 with the Tulsa (OK) Police Department. He has served 18 years of his career in a patrol function with other assignments in Gangs, Media Relations, Training and Planning. Travis has been recognized throughout the world in regards to law enforcement training and received the International Police Trainer of the Year Award in 2008 by ILEETA. He is the Editor In Chief of Law Officer Magazine and is one of the most prolific writers in law enforcement, authoring hundreds of articles for various publications. Travis is often interviewed by major media outlets in regards to law enforcement with past interviews with CNN, USA Today and the Associated Press. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern State University and is a graduate of the 227th Session of the FBI National Academy.
