WASHINGTON – D.C. police say one burglary suspect has died and another has been injured after a shoot-out with officers.
D.C. police say officers responded to the 1000 block of Irving Street in northeast Washington about 10:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a home invasion. Police say the suspects ran out of the back of the home, firing weapons at the officers, and officers returned fire.
Officials say two of the suspects were taken to area hospitals. Police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump said one of the suspects has died. A third suspect was taken into custody at the scene.
Authorities are still investigating.
