JACKSBORO, Tenn. (AP) — An Illinois truck driver has been charged with injuring a Tennessee state trooper.
WVLT-TV (http://bit.ly/14SGBnp ) reported Trooper Joe Lindsay was hurt when a tractor-trailer truck struck his car and a wrecker at the scene of a vehicle fire on Interstate 75 in Campbell County on Sunday morning. Lindsay was released after treatment at University of Tennessee Hospital.
Police said the truck didn't stop, but it was found later at truck stop. Officers charged Stewart Snedeker with driving under the influence of an intoxicant drug, multiple counts of reckless endangerment, vehicular assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and moving traffic violations.
Snedeker is 59 and is from Chrisman, Ill. He was held Monday at the Campbell County Jail which had no record of an attorney for him.
