Tenn. woman fights off intruders with chili, broom

TAZEWELL, Tenn. Up in Tazewell, Wanda Bray slings a mean bowl of chili. Quite literally. Claiborne County Sheriff's Capt. David Honeycutt said Bray was confronted by men who broke into her home Tuesday night and she fought back by throwing what was described as "household objects" at them, including a bowl of homemade chili.

Then, according to The Knoxville News Sentinel, the 58-year-old Bray went after the intruders with a broom. They fled.

Police later arrested three men and charged them with the home invasion robbery and with a recent convenience store holdup.

Honeycutt said the intruders demanded drugs from Bray and probably got away with a bottle of blood pressure pills.
