PHOENIX — A Phoenix police sergeant has been slightly injured in a shooting in Glendale after authorities pursued a man who pointed a gun at officers.
Authorities say the incident began when a Phoenix police officer pulled up next to a sedan waiting at a red light at a Phoenix intersection Wednesday afternoon.
The driver of the sedan began driving erratically and started a police chase that ended when the sedan crashed at 59th Avenue and Cactus Road.
After the collision, police say the driver aimed a gun out of the side window and fired at three officers. None were hit, but a bullet grazed a Phoenix police sergeant while he approached the car.
The Arizona Republic (http://bit.ly/ActmIp) says the unidentified driver was arrested and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
