DETROIT — A man accused of striking a Detroit police officer with his car in the Greektown entertainment area has been charged with murder.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office added charges Monday because Officer Charles Armour has died from his injuries. He died June 11, six days after being struck while on foot.
Saddam Mohsin is charged with first-degree murder, murder of a police officer, failure to stop at an accident scene and other crimes. He's been in custody for two weeks. A request for a psychiatric exam likely will suspend the case for a while.
A message seeking comment was left with Mohsin's attorney. Officers from Michigan and other states attended Armour's funeral Friday.
