RANDOLPH, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man is facing arson and assault charges in connection with a fire at his home in Randolph.
WCVB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/H474PY ) fire officials arrived at the duplex that was on fire just before midnight Saturday.
Police said an officer entering the house saw 54-year-old Raphael Theophile with a gas can. Authorities said Theophile doused the officer with the gas.
Officers subdued Theophile and took him into custody. No injuries were reported and the blaze was contained.
Theophile faces charges including arson and assault and battery on an officer.
It was not known Sunday if he is represented by a lawyer.
