Building upon its comprehensive inventory of industrial and commercial grade hazardous location lighting equipment, Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com announced recently the latest addition to its line of telescoping light towers for large scale lighting applications. Designed to provide a mobile, secure and convenient method of deploying high powered lighting, the Class 1 Division 2 approved EPL-LM-36-4-MH 4000 Watt Hazardous Location Light Tower allows operators to quickly and easily illuminate large areas with 440,000 lumens of high intensity light. Fitted with 4- 1,000 watt metal halide lamps and UL approved for wet locations and marine area use, these telescoping light towers are ideal for use as both general work area and hazardous location lighting.
Magnalights’ EPL-LM-36-4-MH light tower is designed to provide powerful hazardous location illumination in large areas without compromising safety and effectiveness. Capable of being extended to 36 feet in total height, this light tower allows operators in hazardous locations to quickly and easily deploy 4, 1,000 watt metal halide lamps with minimal effort. The extendable tower portion of these units are constructed of square steel tubing for high strength and can be extended to a maximum of 36 feet during light deployment and collapsed to 16 feet for transport. Designed to withstand demanding working conditions and the rigors of transport, these light towers are fitted with four 1,000 watt metal halide fixtures to produce 440,000 lumens of light in a wide flood pattern for maximum coverage of the work area. Elevating these light towers is accomplished using an included 1,000 lbs hand winch and then fully extended to their full height via a second 1,000 lbs hand winch. The most commonly used configuration for these towers includes mounting them to trailers or other stable surfaces, so in order to address this, these towers are designed with a 12 inch square, ½ inch thick mounting base-plate drilled to accept four mounting bolts. The metal halide lamps used with this unit are Class 1 Division 2, groups A, B, C and D approved and IP65 rated against intrusion from dust and water. These light towers are also UL1598, 1598A compliant and suitable for use in marine conditions and wet locations where dampness and water may be encountered making them ideal for illuminating large scale outdoor locations. The lamps contain, within their weatherproof housings, ballasts that are multi-tapped for 120V, 208V, 240V, and 277V electrical power and can be ordered in 220 Volt 50 Hz and 480 volt configurations as well. Magnalight is a manufacturer and can handle custom orders, special lighting requirements and offers several possible configurations to further tailor lighting to the customers' needs.
“The EPL-LM-36-4-MH Class 1 Division 2 metal halide tower is the solution to high powered oilfield lighting,” said Rob Bresnahan, with Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com. “Customers are looking to illuminate large work areas and often times have their own established generators or other power sources. We provide the tower and the hazardous location lighting that easily mates with those pre-existing power sources. In some cases, we will provide our portable power distribution systems to support wide area hazardous location lighting applications. While this hazardous location light tower is an established solution, we can accommodate custom applications as well.”
