(AP) TAMPA, Fla. – Authorities say a Hillsborough County deputy was involved in a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
The sheriff's department reports that a deputy was driving a Ford F250 truck and pulling a trailer carrying an impounded hog Monday afternoon. The truck had been stopped, but the deputy began to pull forward when the light turned green. As the deputy entered the intersection, authorities say another truck ran the red light and hit the deputy's truck.
The deputy received only minor injuries, but the other truck's driver, 47-year-old Robert John Gray, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The hog was not injured.
The sheriff's office reports that Gray was in stable condition and will be charged with running a red light.
