TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa International Airport officials say firearms parts were found in a woman's restroom at the main terminal of Tampa International Airport, outside the security checkpoint.
The parts, belonging to several weapons, were found Wednesday. Officials didn't specify what types of weapons the parts came from.
The agencies investigating include airport police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Officers are investigating whether the firearms parts are linked to a recent incident in nearby Zephyrhills, when a police officer's car was fired upon. Officials are searching for three siblings in connection with that incident.
No injuries or arrests have been reported.
