EUCLID, Ohio — Euclid Police Detective Sgt. Kevin Blakeley, who died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound Wednesday morning, was meeting with Euclid Police Chief Jim Repicky and other supervisors at the time of the incident to address his failure to cooperate with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office, said Euclid Mayor Bill Cervenik.
Cervenik, who spoke at a news conference Thursday morning at Euclid City Hall, said while the city is concerned with the family’s grief, they want to reduce misinformation, rumors and speculation that could make the incident — which occurred just after 8 a.m. at the Euclid Police Department — even worse.
