HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — An East Hartford police officer has been discharged from a hospital five weeks after being seriously injured in a highway crash.
A Hartford Hospital spokeswoman says Todd Lentocha has been released from the hospital, where he was treated for head injuries after the wreck on Route 2 in East Hartford on Jan. 4.
State and town police say Lentocha stopped his cruiser on the eastbound shoulder while investigating criminal activity with other officers when a pickup truck plowed into the cruiser. The pickup driver, Robert Lucky of New Haven, wasn't injured and hasn't been charged.
State police continue to investigate the accident.
