When Buck Knives created their new Lux series framelocks, they were confident they would be well received. But they were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming response from both dealers and consumers.
“We are convinced this instant success is the result of a combination of factors,” said CJ Buck, president of the 109-year-old family knifemaking company. “First, the slim, elegant design that is eye-catching, and then the positive sensation feel when you pick it up. The
great blade is so easy to use with the framelock, and it's all topped off by the fact that the Lux is made in America.”
There are three models in the lightweight Lux series, all with a 2-1/2-inch drop-point blade that has a handy flipper for smooth one-hand opening. The solid framelock ensures safety in use, and the Lux weighs less than linerlocks.
“Another key to this success is our good-better-best pricing for the Lux series, offering choices of steels, handles and price options, which widens their appeal,” Buck said. “Top-of-the-line is the 016 Lux Pro with a titanium-coated S30V stainless steel blade and textured
stainless steel handle coated with carbon fiber and titanium. Suggested retail is $125.”
He said the Avid and Select models, with the same basic features but different steels and handles, are priced at $75 and $52.50. All are backed by Buck's Forever Warranty.
