The Small, Rural, Tribal & Border Regional Center (SRTBRC)—formerly the Rural Law Enforcement Technology Center—is accepting applications through July 1 to attend its fall 2010 institute. Applications are available at www.rleti.org.
Who should attend? If your department has fewer than 50 sworn officers, and you’re a supervisor or commander with a technology problem or solution, this is for you. The application process entails creating a PowerPoint to present to the group.
The event will take place Oct. 3–8 in Coronado, Calif., and all expenses are paid. The Law Officer team will be there, and there will be vendor demonstrations of technology solutions for the small or rural police department.
The bottom line:
SRTBRC, which is part of the National Institute of Justice, leverages technology to make officers from small and rural departments safer and more effective. Attendance at the institute is a privilege.
Apply now if this opportunity appeals to you.
