GAYLESVILLE, AL – A Alabama police officer is one of three people killed in a collision on Friday evening north of Gaylesville.
ABC3340 is reporting that Centre police officer Jeffery Hugh Bryant, 51, was killed when his cruiser was struck head-on on Highway 35. Officer Bryant was returning from a prisoner extradition at the DeKalb County line.
24-year old Charity Sloane Brewster was driving the other vehicle which had reportedly left the roadway. Brewster overcorrected and collided with Bryant’s cruiser.
Brewster’s 2-year old son was also killed in the crash. Another passenger in Brewster’s vehicle was flown to Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga.
